Falls Church Neighborhoods: Ellison Heights

April 6, 2011 by · Leave a Comment

Ellison Heights is a community of nearly 250 single-family homes in the heart of Falls Church. It’s bordered by North West Street, West Broad Street (Route 7), Haycock Road, and Great Falls Street. Ellison Heights is convenient to major commuting routes, such as Route 7 and I-66, and is less than a mile to the West Falls Church metro station, making it handy for those who want to walk or utilize the kiss-and-ride.

In addition to being near a transportation hub, Ellison Heights has earned itself the rating of a “very walkable” neighborhood. Hungry? Nearly a dozen restaurants are within a quarter mile. Need caffeine? Three coffee houses are less than a half mile away. Feeling under the weather? Five pharmacies are within a half mile of your front door.

Ellison Heights is a popular destination, and currently, only three homes are actively listed for sale in MRIS, our local MLS. Prices range from $739,900 for a three-bedroom, 3.5-bath colonial to $1,049,000 for a five-bedroom, 4.5-bath new construction Craftsman.

In the past year, seven homes changed hands in Ellison Heights, and none of those were short sales or foreclosures. The average sales price was $895,100, and the homes sat on the market for an average of 61 days.
