Falls Church Neighborhoods: Devonshire Gardens

June 22, 2011 by · Leave a Comment

Devonshire Gardens is a community of nearly 100 homes. Located near the intersection of Lee Highway and Graham Road, Devonshire Gardens is convenient to major commuting routes, including the Beltway. It’s also about two miles from both the East and West Falls Church metro stations.

The neighborhood is established, and construction in Devonshire Gardens started back in the 1920s and has continued through the years. Some of the older homes have been torn down and replaced with new construction, but the majority of the homes in Devonshire Gardens are well-built older homes on streets lined with mature trees.

With a walk score of 49, Devonshire Gardens is “somewhat car dependent.” However, there are over a dozen restaurants within a mile of Devonshire Gardens, including local favorites Present and Pho Sate.

Currently, two homes are actively listed for sale in Devonshire Gardens, according to MRIS, our local MLS. Both are split levels with five bedrooms. One has three baths, the other has 3.5 baths. The house with three baths is listed for $519,900, and has been on the market for 90 days. The other is listed for $499,000 and has been on the market for 93 days. Neither is a short sale or foreclosure.

No homes are currently under contract in Devonshire Gardens.

In the past year, just two homes changed hands in Devonshire Gardens. One was a five-bed, three-bath rambler that sold for $590,000 and was on the market for 13 days before selling. The other home that sold was a colonial with four bedrooms and two baths. It sold for $432,000 in just ten days, and it was a short sale.
