Falls Church Neighborhoods: Pinewood Greens
Pinewood Greens is a community of about 300 townhouses constructed in the early to mid-’70s. Pinewood Greens is located just north of Lee Highway (Route 29) near Jefferson District Park. The neighborhood is convenient to major traffic arteries, such as the Beltway and I-66, and is also about 1.5 miles to the Dunn Loring/Merrifield metro station, making it a popular destination for commuters.
With a walk score of 63, Pinewood Greens is considered “somewhat walkable.” More than a dozen restaurants are within one mile of the neighborhood, including local favorites Bubba’s Bar-B-Q and Sea Pearl. For the caffeine junkies out there, three coffee shops and five grocery stores are within a mile of residents’ front doors. The community is also adjacent to the popular Jefferson District Park, where you can enjoy a round of golf, some putt-putt, or play some tennis or a pick-up game of basketball. Picnic facilities and a playground are also available at the park. Don’t feel like walking across the street to let the kids work off some of that extra energy? Pinewood Greens has its own tot lot where the kids can run, jump, and play, and an outdoor pool for everyone to enjoy.
Currently, just two homes are actively listed for sale in Pinewood Greens, according to MRIS, our local MLS. Both have 1,386 square feet of living space. One home has three bedrooms, two full baths, and one half bath with an asking price of $315,000 and has been on the market for eight days. That home is a short sale. The other home is a three-bed, two-bath unit with a list price of $340,000. It has been on the market for 84 days, and is not a short sale or foreclosure.
One home is currently under contract in Pinewood Greens. It’s a short sale with four bedrooms, three full baths, and one half bath. Its asking price is $345,000 and has been on the market for 181 days.
In the past year, nine homes have changed hands in Pinewood Greens. They sat on the market for an average of 88 days, and had an average sales price of $354,656. Two of the homes were foreclosures, and none were sort sales.
