Falls Church Neighborhoods: Deputron

November 15, 2011 by · Leave a Comment

Deputron is a small community of less than a dozen single-family homes. The first homes were built in the 1920s, and throughout the years new homes were added to the community, with the latest home being constructed in 2009. Located just west of Great Falls Street and near West Broad Street, Deputron is convenient to major commuting routes, such as I-66 and Dulles Toll Road. It’s also about one mile from both the East Falls Church and West Falls Church metro stations.

With a walk score of 46, Deputron is considered “car dependent.” However, well over a dozen restaurants are within a mile of residents’ front doors, including local favorites Clare & Don’s Beach Shack and Mad Fox Brewing Company. More than 16 grocery stores are within two miles of the neighborhood, and four coffee shops are within a mile for those needing a caffeine fix.

The neighborhood is popular and turnover is low in Deputron. No homes are actively listed for sale or are under contract at the time of this writing, according to MRIS, our local MLS. Also, no homes have sold in the past year in Deputron. In fact, we have to go all the way back to October 2009 for the last home that sold. It was a three-bed, three-bath updated and expanded Craftsman. It was on the market for just nine days and sold for $735,000.
