Falls Church Neighborhoods: Retlaw Terrace

November 8, 2011 by · Leave a Comment

Retlaw Terrace is a community of 32 single family homes built in the 1950s. Located near the intersection of Idylwood Road and Great Falls Street near McLean, Retlaw Terrace is convenient to major commuting routes, such as I-66, the Beltway, and Dulles Toll Road. It’s also about one mile from the West Falls Church metro station, making it a popular destination for commuters.

With a walk score of 28, Retlaw Terrace is considered “car dependent.” However, nearly a dozen restaurants are within a mile of residents’ front doors, including local favorites Haandi and Ledo Pizza. Need a morning pick-me-up? Two coffee shops are within a mile, and Retlaw Terrace is also convenient to downtown McLean, home of Greenberry’s. Need some fresh air? The neighborhood is just blocks to three different parks: Kirby Park, Haycock Longfellow Park, and Pimmet Run Stream Valley Park.

Currently, just one home is actively listed for sale in Retlaw Terrace, according to MRIS, our local MLS. It’s a three-bed, one-bath rancher with 1,300 square feet of living space. It’s been on the market for 93 days and has an asking price of $550,000. This home is not a short sale or foreclosure.

No homes are currently under contract in Retlaw Terrace.

In the past year, two homes have changed hands in Retlaw Terrace. One was a four-bedroom, two-bath split level that sold for $575,000 after just nine days on the market. The other home was a colonial with four bedrooms, three full baths, and one half bath. It had more than 2,100 square feet of living space and sold for $800,000 after less than one week on the market. Neither home that sold last year was a short sale or foreclosure.
