December 20, 2011 by · Leave a Comment

North Idylwood is a community of about a dozen single-family homes built mainly in the 1940s, ’50s, and ’60s. One home was built more recently in 2008. Located near the intersection of Leesburg Pike (Route 7) and Idylwood Road, North Idylwood is convenient to major commuting routes, such as the Beltway and I-66. It’s also less than two miles from the Dunn Loring-Merrifield metro station.

With a walk score of 38, North Idylwood is considered “car dependent.” However, nearly a dozen restaurants are within one mile of residents’ front doors, including local favorites Idylwood Grill and Mark’s Pub. Whole Foods is also less than an mile from North Idylwood.

Currently, no homes are actively listed for sale or are under contract in North Idylwood, according to MRIS, our local MLS.

The neighborhood is popular, and just one home has changed hands in the last two years in North Idylwood. It was a split level with six bedrooms, five baths, and one half bath. It was a foreclosure that sat on the market for 197 days and finally sold for $630,000.
